About Bev Petrie
Bev and her husband Jack moved to the St. Croix Valley in 1991, three months after the first of their two sons was born. They raised their kids in May Township. Jack lost his battle with cancer in 2012, and the entire family misses him and his irreverent sense of humor. In 2015, Bev downsized and moved to a house on the North Hill of Stillwater. She likes gardening, hiking, reading, knitting, hosting parties, playing pickleball and golf, and catering to her somewhat neurotic dog Nori.
Both boys took full advantage of the excellent education they received in Stillwater Area Public Schools. Ian is a ceramic artist living and working in Philadelphia. It’s a pursuit that he owes directly to the inspiration and encouragement he received from an art teacher at Stillwater Area High School. (Curious about Ian’s work? Here’s his website.)
Ben followed in his father’s footsteps by graduating from medical school in 2020. He attended Boston University Medical School and now is in a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago.
